Former Notts County Keepers Find New Clubs

The pair are the latest players from the now defunct Notts County side to be allowed to find new sides with the transfer deadline passed.

England keeper Telford (29) has been brought in by Chelsea manager Emma Hayes due to injuries to both Hedvig Lindahl and Becky Spencer.

Upon signing Telford, who previously played for the Blues between 2010 and 2013, told chelseafc.com: ‘I am very grateful for the opportunity to join Chelsea on a short-term deal for the Spring Series. Chelsea are a top-quality side and it is an exciting project to be part of.

‘Chelsea is a club I love and the changes since I left have been very exciting. I am returning to a club looking to win trophies.

‘The main thing Emma said to me was that I am coming to a club with a winning mentality and the aim is to win the Spring Series.

‘Emma wants to win, the players want to win and the club expects success – it is an exciting new chapter for me.’

Hayes added: ‘With the injury to Hedvig and Becky recovering from surgery, the opportunity to bring an experienced goalkeeper like Carly in for the Spring Series made perfect sense.

‘She is a player I know well and there is no doubting her quality. What she will add to the team both on and off the pitch is huge.’

Telford will be in the squad for tonight’s match against Reading at Wycombe Wanderers FC.

Megan Walsh, has joined Yeovil ahead of tonight’s derby game versus Bristol City at Taunton Town FC.

Progressing through the U-17 and U-19s, Walsh has since been a member of the England U-23 squad.

Still living in the Midlands, Walsh will be committing to the Lady Glovers side for the Spring Series.

On signing, Walsh said to yeoviltownladies.com: “I’m really excited about signing for Yeovil, the team had a great season last year and I’m looking forward to being part of this team and building on that success.

“I can’t get wait to get started, and what better way to get stuck in with the derby against Bristol this evening.”
