Sion Swifts (pictured) eliminated holders and Danske Bank Premiership leaders Linfield by two goals to nil. One up just before the break from a Chloe McGlade lob, the win was secured when Kendra McMullan netted an 85th-minute lob from the edge of the box.
Chimney Corner were held 2-2 in 90 minutes by East Belfast, with Jenny Thompson and Ashleigh Thompson their scorers. When it came down to a shoot-out, Paige Floyd made a couple of fine saves in a 3-2 victory. This was a second successive penalties win for the hosts, who similarly edged past Comber Rec in the previous round.
Newry City were the top scorers, with a double-figure win at Mid-Ulster.
Glentoran out eight past Ballymena, with braces by Rachel Rogan and Makyla Mulholland, one each for Nadene Caldwell, Cathy Rees and Caragh Milligan, plus own own-goal.
Crusaders hit five against Killen Rangers, with Heather Mearns, Helen McKenna, Julie Nelson, Chloe Doak and Emily Wilson all getting on the scoresheet.
PSNI, who came through the first round with a win on penalties, bowed out 3-2 after extra-time at Crewe United.
