At Wallasey Wanderers they found themselves playing as an open-age team in a junior club, so felt in important to move to a set-up more suited to adult football.
Offers came in from other clubs but West Kirby’s was seen as the most beneficial, as the team get to use the main pitch and facilities at its Marine Park base in Greenbank Road.
Although West Kirby FC’s history began way back in 1892, this is their first ever women’s team.
Thw club’s main claim to fame is in former player and Everton legend, Dixie Dean.
Open training sessions and trials for new recruits have just begun, taking place every Thursday, 6.30pm at Marine Park.
