Scotland will begin their quest to qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup next month, when they take on Albania at the Paisley 2021 Stadium.
The fixture will mark both the team’s first match in Scotland since their participation in the Euro 2017 and also head coach Shelley Kerr’s first in charge on home soil. It will come five days after Scotland play their first qualifying match away to Belarus, says scottishfa.co.uk
Kerr will be looking to build on a winning start beginning with a comprehensive 3-0 friendly victory over Hungary in Budapest earlier this month.
Scotland have been drawn in Group 2 alongside top seeds Switzerland, Poland, Belarus and Albania. After making their major tournament debut earlier this year, Scotland will be aiming to qualify for the World Cup for the first time.
Scotland versus Albania will kick off at 7.30pm on 24th October, with free entry and live coverage on BBC Alba.
