Woodley United won through to the SSE Women’s FA Cup 3rd Round qualifying for the first time ever, following a 2-1 defeat of Alton on 24th September.
The Berkshire side now face a tough test away to Premier League AFC Wimbledon on Sunday 8th October.
Woodley had been given a second chance in the competition, re-instated despite a 9-0 loss due to an unregistered player fielded by Oxford City.
Alton had come much more comfortably through their 1st round qualifying tie, with an 8-1 victory at fellow Southern League Division 1 South side Fleet Town.
Woodley, unbeaten after two game in Division 1 North, took a 23rd minute lead when Rosie Page-Smith chased down the ball to score.
Alton equalised on 77 minutes but with 3 minutes to go, May Hamblin restored the advantage for the hosts.
