Arsenal will face Corinthians in the Women’s Champions Cup final, as long as they can defeat Moroccan side AS FAR on Wednesday night.
Brazilian side Corinthians beat the NWSL champions Gotham FC 1-0, thanks to an 83rd-minute goal from captain Gabi Zanotti.
As long as Arsenal can defeat AS FAR tonight, the Gunners will have the chance to win the inaugural Women’s Champions Cup on home soil at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
What happened in the first Women’s Champions Cup semi-final?
Corinthians edged out Gotham FC in a tight semi-final in Brentford on Wednesday afternoon.
Gotham FC named a strong side that included England defender Jess Carter.
The NWSL side had the better of the possession and chances but struggled to break down the Brazilian side.
The winning goal came in the 83rd minute, when 40-year-old Zanotti scored past former Chelsea goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger.
Zanotti got on the end of a cross, taking the ball down and hitting a shot which Berger got a hand on, but could not keep out.
Gotham FC had a late chance to bag an equaliser in the 13th minute of stoppage time when they were awarded a free-kick just outside the box.
However, Jaedyn Shaw’s free-kick curled just wide of the post in the final moment of the game.

Arsenal bid to join Corinthians in the final
Moroccan side AS FAR stand in the way of Arsenal and a place in the Women’s Champions Cup final.
AS FAR was first formed in 1958 by the former King of Morocco, Moulay El Hassan II. The team was first created by El Hassan for the military.
Arsenal boss Renee Slegers revealed that Chloe Kelly will return for the Gunners against the winners of the African Champions League.
Frida Maanum and Kyra Cooney-Cross are also part of the squad, but the game is too soon for Leah Williamson.
Slegers said: “We are part of this competition because we won the Champions League last year, and it will be interesting and challenging to measure ourselves against top teams from other continents, so we’re looking forward to the game.”
Sky Sports won the rights to broadcast the tournament, with Arsenal’s semi-final kicking off at 6:30pm.
