Brighton and Hove Albion have announced that head coach Dario Vidosic will be taking a leave of absence “for the foreseeable future”.
That includes Sunday’s Women’s FA Cup fourth-round tie against WSL2 side Nottingham Forest as they begin their campaign in the competition.
The club added in a statement that it is for “private family reasons”.
Assistant head coach Chris Roberts, supported by Arthur Brammer, will take interim charge, beginning with Sunday.
The club also issued a statement from women’s and girls’ managing director Zoe Johnson, who said, “As a club, our priority is to support Dario at this difficult time. We ask that his and his family’s privacy is respected.
“Chris and Arthur will have the full backing of the players, staff and the wider club during this interim period.”
Dario Vidosic: his time at Brighton
Dario Vidosic took the role at Brighton in the summer of 2024, following just under two years in charge at Melbourne City.
His side finished fifth in the Women’s Super League in 2024-25, with eight wins from their 22 games – but 15 points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
They reached the fifth round of the Women’s FA Cup, where they lost 3-2 to fellow top-tier side Aston Villa.
Brighton and Hove Albion: their next matches
Brighton return to WSL action on Friday, 23rd January, when they travel to face Everton. They then host London City Lionesses on Sunday, 1st February.
They then go to West Ham United on Sunday, 8th February – and their last match before the international break is a home match against Arsenal on Sunday, 15th February.
