Arsenal have released the first three episodes of ‘Only in the Land’, a documentary series following their victorious 2024-25 UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign.
Narrated by former Arsenal centre-back Jen Beattie, the series features exclusive interviews with players and coaches as the Gunners won the trophy for the second time, having won it in 2007 when it was the UEFA Women’s Cup.
The series chronicles Renee Slegers taking over the team’s management after the departure of Jonas Eidevall, and follows the European campaign, including the comebacks against Real Madrid and Lyon in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively.
The fourth and final episode focuses on the final in Lisbon, as Arsenal overcome the odds and beat Spanish giants and two-time reigning champions Barcelona 1-0 courtesy of a single Stina Blackstenius goal.
“I felt so full in that moment that I wanted to burst,” defender Lotte Wubben-Moy says in the final episode. “I was crying because you never know when that moment will ever come again You actually don’t even think that moment is ever going to come. We pushed the club on another few steps, and the hope is we can continue to push it on with our fans, with our family, with the staff, with the players with every single one of us involved so we can be again full. We just want to burst, and share it with everyone.”
Episodes one, two and three of the four-part series are available to watch now on Arsenal.com with the final episode released on Friday, 16th January.
Arsenal in this year’s UEFA Women’s Champions League
Arsenal have made tough work of the defence of their European title. They lost two of their six games in the league phase of this year’s competition, first to Lyon (2-1 at home) and then to Bayern Munich (3-2 away).
They finished fifth in the table and will face OH Leuven in the knockout phase play-offs next month.
