Liverpool Women have announced the signing of Swedish U23 winger Alice Bergstrom from BK Hacken.
The 22-year-old is Liverpool’s first signing of the January transfer window, as Gareth Taylor looks to improve his side after a winless first half of the Women’s Super League campaign.
Speaking to the club’s website, she said: “I’m really excited. I’ve been waiting a long time, so it’s nice to be here.
“I’m really excited to get started and it’s going to be a good year.”
Bergstrom joins Swedish compatriots Beata Olsson and Cornelia Kapocs at the Merseyside club. She will hope to have a similar impact to Olsson, who has been a bright spark for Liverpool in a disappointing campaign.
Bergstorm will wear the No. 25 shirt for the Merseyside club during the 2025-26 season.
We are delighted to announce the signing of Alice Bergström from BK Häcken, subject to international clearance and a work permit ✍️🔴

Who is new Liverpool signing Alice Bergstrom?
It was reported before Christmas that Liverpool were close to signing Bergstrom from BK Hacken.
At Hacken, she helped the club win the 2025 Damallsvenskan title, scoring three goals and providing eight assists in 25 appearances.
She also recently played both legs as Hacken beat Inter Milan 1-0 on aggregate in the last 16 of the Women’s Europa Cup.
That form earned her a maiden call-up to Sweden’s squad for their Nations League third-place playoff against France.
Bergstom joined Hacken in December 2023 and previously played for Swedish clubs Tyreso, Alvsjo AIK FF and Djurgarden.
She is not the only player to leave BK Hacken during the January transfer window.
Tottenham signed Hannah Wijk from the Swedish club, with the London club also signing Signe Gaupset and Matilda Nilden this month.
Who else could Liverpool sign during the January transfer window?
Liverpool are also reportedly looking to sign Denise O’Sullivan during the January transfer window.
The 31-year-old Republic of Ireland international has played for NWSL side North Carolina Courage since 2017.
She has previously played in the WSL for Brighton during a short loan spell in 2020.
O’Sullivan would strengthen Liverpool’s midfield for the second-half of the campaign.
Liverpool boss Taylor has been keen to strengthen his squad due to significant injuries suffered in the first-half of the campaign.
Sophie Roman Haug suffered an ACL injury, just days after Marie Hobinger suffered the same injury.
Liverpool failed to win a game during the first half of the season. The Reds have three points on the board after draws with Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham.
