Barcelona star Aitana Bonmati is determined to return by the business end of the season after breaking her leg.
The three-time Ballon d’Or winner suffered the injury while on international duty with Spain, between the two legs of their Nations League final against Germany.
There is some fear that Bonmati could miss the rest of the campaign. However, the 27-year-old still hopes to play her part again this season, as Barcelona go for success in Spain and Europe.
What did Aitana Bonmati say about her injury?
As per DAZN, Aitana Bonmati hopes to make her return for Barcelona before the end of the domestic season.
Bonmati said: “This is the first serious injury of my career. I have had small ones before, but this is part of sport.
“And I have played at a very high level for many years with almost no rest, and that also creates wear.
“I am trying to see my injury positively. Life gave me a pause to come back better and to enjoy the time I did not have before.

“My goal is to play again before the end of this season. That is my only focus right now.”
Bonmati is expected to miss five months after undergoing surgery on her broken leg at the start of December.
This would keep Bonmati out until May, and it will likely take her time to return to full fitness when she returns to training.
Barcelona without Bonmati
Barcelona have coped well without Bonmati so far but could miss the Spaniard, particularly as the Champions League reaches its latter stages.
The Spanish giants have qualified for the quarter-finals of the competition, where they will meet either Spanish rivals Real Madrid or Paris FC.
Barcelona will then face either Bayern Munich, Manchester United or Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals of the competition.
They also have a comfortable lead in Liga F, where they hold a seven-point lead over Real Madrid with 12 games to play.
Attention will also turn to expiring contracts in the new year. Alexia Putellas is one of several players out of contract next summer.
Barcelona did receive a boost recently after last season’s top scorer in the Champions League, Claudia Pina, committed to a new contract with the club.
