The 2025-26 Women’s Super League season is already halfway through, and SheKicks is compiling midseason report cards for each of the WSL teams, and next up is Brighton.

How have Brighton started the WSL season?

Brighton appear unlikely to match their fifth-place finish from last season, mainly due to the improvement of Tottenham.

The Seagulls are seventh in the WSL, with four wins, two draws and five defeats from their opening 11 matches.

All of Brighton’s defeats have come against the sides that are currently occupying the top five in the WSL.

Brighton failed to take their chances in draws against Aston Villa and Liverpool, but otherwise have performed as you would expect given their level of talent.

The 1-0 victory against the London City Lionesses could prove huge in their fight to finish in the top half come the end of the season.

Brighton are particularly strong in defence, conceding just 13 goals this term, the same amount as Manchester United. Only Chelsea (6), Arsenal (10) and Manchester City (10) have conceded fewer goals in the WSL this term.

Brighton’s WSL results

  • Brighton 0-0 Aston Villa (07/09/25)
  • Manchester City 2-1 Brighton (12/09/25)
  • Brighton 4-1 West Ham (21/09/25)
  • Brighton 1-0 Everton (28/09/25)
  • Tottenham 1-0 Brighton (05/10/25)
  • Arsenal 1-0 Brighton (12/10/25)
  • Brighton 2-3 Manchester United (02/11/25)
  • Liverpool 1-1 Brighton (09/11/25)
  • Brighton 4-1 Leicester (16/11/25)
  • London City Lionesses 0-1 Brighton (07/12/25)
  • Brighton 0-3 Chelsea (14/12/25)

Brighton hurt by injury to Michelle Agyemang

Brighton perhaps would have scored more than 14 goals this term if it were not for the injury suffered by Michelle Agyemang.

Agyemang suffered a ruptured ACL during England’s victory over Australia in October.

The England striker was hoping for a big season after her exploits for the Lionesses at Euro 2025.

Brighton fans will hope that Agyemang, who won the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award last week, will return to the Seagulls next season.

How are Brighton’s summer signings performing?

Brighton goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie is one of the smartest signings of the season and is a big factor behind the club’s defensive resiliency this season.

Nnadozie is Brighton’s highest-rated player on average with FotMob this season at 7.57, and she is second in the league behind Hannah Hampton (86.2) for save percentage this season at 80.8 per cent.

Centre-back Moeka Minami has quickly stamped her place in the starting XI in defence, while Carla Camacho has frequently come off the bench this season and done a solid job

Maelys Mpome has shown promise in her outings, while Manuela Vanegas and Fuka Tsunoda have only played big-part roles so far this season.

Performance of Brighton head coach

Dario Vidosic is roughly on par with where you would expect Brighton to be performing this season.

Other than the 1-1 draw with struggling Liverpool, Brighton have got the results you would expect of them so far during the 2025-26 campaign.

Though they were outclassed in a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, Brighton made both Manchester clubs and Arsenal work hard for their three points.

Vidosic will be disappointed that his side are not on track to match their fifth-place finish of last season, but if they are to obtain a top-half finish this campaign, it would be viewed as a success.

Brighton WSL midseason report grade: B-

Brighton receive a B- for their WSL midseason report grade, which is higher than that of Arsenal and Aston Villa.

While the Seagulls are roughly matching expectations, Arsenal will be frustrated by their start, while Aston Villa have only taken three victories – two of which were struggling West Ham and Liverpool.

The impact of the absence of Agyemang can’t be understated, and the Seagulls will likely be looking to sign a new striker in January.

Brighton have benefitted from the goalkeeping excellence of Nnadozie and the impact of Kiko Seike, who has four goals this term.

The Seagulls are unlikely to match last season’s fifth-place finish thanks to the improvement of Tottenham. However, a top-half finish is still realistic.
