Beth Mead’s career in numbers: Arsenal star reaches 250 club appearances

Arsenal's Beth Mead signs new deal. Most WSL appearances

Beth Mead finally reached a huge milestone in her Arsenal career on Sunday, as the winger made her 250th appearance for the Gunners.

The English forward has become a legend during her time in North London and we take a look at her career in numbers so far.

Beth Mead’s 250th Arsenal cap

Beth Mead made her landmark appearance for Arsenal in the Subway League Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The 30-year-old featured off the bench against Crystal Palace and received a warm reception from the travelling fans.

Although she was only on the pitch for ten minutes, Mead showed just how much of an impact she can still have for her team.

The veteran forward picked up an assist deep into stoppage time as Arsenal secured a spot in the League Cup semi-final.

With the score just 1-0 before she came on, Mead’s late assist for Stina Blackstenius settled the nerves and ensured Arsenal headed into the winter break with some good momentum.

Her assist was Mead’s 10th domestic goal contribution of the season so far as she continues to display her value eight years after moving to North London.

When did Mead make her debut?

Beth Mead signed for Arsenal in 2017. At the time of signing the then 22-year-old was one of the hottest properties in England.

During the season prior to her transfer, Mead won the WSL golden boot with Sunderland – scoring 12 goals in 14 games.

At just 20-years-old she became (and still remains) the youngest ever winner of the WSL golden boot.

Since making her debut for the three-time WSL winners Mead has racked up 250 appearances for Arsenal over eight years.

It hasn’t all been plain sailing for the Lioness in London, as Mead tore her ACL in 2022.

There was also rumours of a departure for Arsenal’s icon in summer but Mead wasn’t tempted away by an offer from London City Lionesses.

81 Arsenal goals for Beth Mead

In her eight years with Arsenal, Mead has a great goalscoring record in England.

The league veteran has managed 81 goals in her 250 appearances for the Gunners which is an average of 0.33 goals per game.

Mead reached another major milestone in 2025 as she netted her 50th WSL goal for Arsenal in March.

Since returning from Euro 2025 in summer, Mead has picked up three goals. All of the winger’s goals so far this season have come in the women’s Champions League.

With 81 goals for the club, Mead ranks third in the all-time top Arsenal scorers behind only Vivianne Miedema and Kim Little.

Mead’s WSL records

During her years with Arsenal and Sunderland, Beth Mead has put herself in numerous record books.

The England superstar has 51 assists in the WSL – more than any other player in league history. No other WSL star has ever reached the half century mark of assists.

But it isn’t just her creating that Mead has become infamous for during her impressive career.

Mead ranks fourth amongst the all-time top WSL scorers with 70 goals from her 12 seasons in England’s top flight.

What next for Beth Mead?

After talks broke down with London City Lionesses in summer, it seems likely that Mead will see out the rest of her season in North London.

The veteran signed a ‘multi-year’ contract with Arsenal in 2022 but there is no official record of when that deal expires.

This year could be Mead’s last season with the Gunners as the team has already brought in a new age of wingers including Olivia Smith and Chloe Kelly.

If this really is Mead’s last year with Arsenal she will want to round it off with some sort of trophy at the end of the season.

Manchester City are firmly in the driving seat for the WSL this season as they sit eight points ahead of Arsenal at Christmas.

Renee Slegers’ side could be on track for another deep run in the Champions League this season though, as they look to retain their title from last season.

Arsenal drew Oud-Heverlee Leuven in the playoffs and they will be full of confidence after beating the same opponent in the group stage.
