Isobel Goodwin signs new London City Lionesses contract
The 22-year-old English forward has put pen to paper on a new deal until the end of the 2027-28 season.
Goodwin joined the club in 2024 and led the Lionesses to the top-flight after topping the WSL 2 scoring chart.
Speaking to the club’s website, she said: “I feel like this is a place that I can call home. I’m really enjoying my time here and I’m absolutely delighted to sign a new contract.
“Playing with and against world-class players week-in, week-out is a real privilege. I love it here at London City. I love the players, the staff and I just want to carry that on.
“When joining last year, I arrived at the very start of the season. Moving out of my family home to come here was a big decision for me. I feel I’ve grown into the club and making that step into the WSL is something every player wants to do. Playing in the top-flight is helping me grow as a player and person and I’m loving it here.
“Doing the best I can in the WSL and hopefully scoring as many goals as I can are my immediate aims. I just want to help the team win games to give us the best chance of being successful.”
Here to make history.

Goodwin’s London City career
Goodwin joined the club from Sheffield United in the summer of 2024 and made an immediate impact.
She was a key member of the side that secured promotion to the top flight, scoring 16 goals in 18 appearances.
This led to her being named as the WSL 2 Player of the Season and taking the league’s Golden Boot.
Goals have been harder to come by in the top-flight, but she has helped lead the Lionesses to some important victories.
Goodwin scored a brace in the 2-1 victory over Everton in September and also netted in their recent 3-1 triumph over Aston Villa.
The London City Lionesses are flying high in the WSL, and currently sit in sixth, just four points outside the top four.
Jocelyn Precheur’s side play their final game before the winter break on December 14th, away at Leicester City.
The WSL’s winter break starts on December 15th, however, some top-flight sides still have Champions League and League Cup games before Christmas.
