Rosie Hughes made her 100th appearance for Wrexham at the weekend as they trounced third-tier side NFA 11-0 in the first round of the Bute Energy Welsh Cup.
She is the first woman to reach the milestone for the club since the women’s side was reformed in 2018.
And to mark the occasion, she scored four goals, with team-mate Faye Knox also grabbing three.
“Four goals to cap my 100th game for Wrexham is a really wild achievement,” she told the club’s official YouTube channel.
“You don’t realise how long you’ve been playing football for to get that 100 games for one team, and to do it for Wrexham, I couldn’t be prouder of myself and prouder of all the people who have done it alongside me to get to where I am now.”
And she admitted she hadn’t realised she was breaking new ground.
“I didn’t realise I was the first female to get it since the reform, so looking back at all the amazing memories and all the good and bad times I’ve had to get to this moment is such an achievement,” she said.
“Today was a very special moment. I feel like I tried to compose myself throughout this game just to soak it all in, and soak up my achievements, soak up everything I’ve done and we’ve done as a team, to keep pushing and get on and strive for more.”

Now 30, Rosie Hughes signed for Wrexham in 2021. Hughes scored her 100th goal for Wrexham in 2023, after 46 appearances. She helped them to promotion from the Adran North to the Adran Premier in the 2022-23 season, and since then, they have reached two successive Bute Energy Welsh Cup finals, and finished in the top four of the league twice over.
This season, under new head coach Jenny Sugarman, Hughes has featured less regularly in the starting line-up, but continues to have an impact as a substitute, and adds value when the squad needs to be rotated.
