Women’s domestic football is preparing to halt operations with an international break coming up at the end of November.

Sarina Wiegman has already named her squad for England’s two upcoming friendlies.

When is the next international break?

There is just one round of European fixtures coming up ahead of the international break.

The WSL and all domestic leagues have already concluded until early December, with the final fixtures taking place last weekend. 

International teams will get together after Champions League matchday four this week but there are some standout fixtures for English teams before that happens.

Chelsea face off against Barcelona on Thursday in a rematch of the 2021 Champions League final.

Manchester United are bidding to maintain their 100% European record this season when they face two-time champions in Wolfsburg on Tuesday.

Arsenal also face a European giant in Real Madrid.

Who do England face in the international break?

The Lionesses have two games coming up during the international break.

Sarina Wiegman’s side will face China and Ghana as they conclude their Homecoming Tour.

The tour was put on for the Lionesses after their Euro 2025 success, as they travel around the country with four friendlies in celebration.

England will play China on Saturday, November 29th at Wembley Stadium – the site of their first European success in 2022.

Wiegman and co. will then travel down south to St. Mary’s Stadium, the home of Southampton.

On the south coast, England will play Ghana on Tuesday, December 2nd in their final game of the year.    

Who missed out on the Lionesses squad?

Lauren James was a shock omission from the latest England squad, as the Chelsea star has been left at home to continue her return to full fitness.

In James’ absence, London City Lionesses striker Freya Godfrey has earned her first international call-up.

Michelle Agyemang, Alex Greenwood, Hannah Hampton and Leah Williamson are all still recovering from injury and were not selected.

After a fast start to the season for high-flying Manchester City, Lauren Hemp has made her return to the England team.
