Wolfsburg star Guro Bergsvand is looking forward to her team’s Champions League clash against Manchester United this week and she says the Germans are up to the challenge.
United are in form in Europe, but two-time champions Wolfsburg will be their toughest test yet this season.
Wolfsburg up for United challenge
Manchester United travel to Germany on Tuesday afternoon for an early kick off in the women’s Champions League.
Speaking ahead of the game, Wolfsburg defender Guro Bergsvand was full of praise for her team’s upcoming opponent.
“I think there’s a little bit of a new Man United, but at least what I’m seeing this year, they have more depth in their squad, they have more different variations in their playing style,” She said.

“Before, they’ve always been solid for at least a few years in the back. Not letting teams create a lot of chances on them being solid.”
Bergsvand has plenty of experience playing against United, as she played for Brighton in the WSL before leaving for Germany in summer this year.
Manchester United have ‘individual quality’
While the Norway international is confident on a result in Europe this week, she and her teammates are all aware of United’s talented squad.
“I think they have some individual quality that we definitely need to be aware of, and then we need to be clinical. It’s huge in the Champions League. You need to put away the chances that you get because against a team like Man United, you’re not going to get that many.
“But also we need to try and limit their strikers or forwards try to disrupt what they’re going at. So, yeah, definitely a good team, it’s going to be a huge challenge for us, but we’re definitely up for it.”
United struggled to sign many players in the summer due to financial difficulties.
The club still managed to bring in experienced Swedish duo Fridolina Rolfo and Julia Zigiotti Olme, who have made a huge difference in the Champions League.
Manchester United and Wolfsburg flying in Europe
Both United and Wolfsburg have been flying in the Champions League this season.
The Red Devils have won all three games in Europe so far and they have conceded just one goal against some tough opposition.

Last week United toppled PSG on Mary Earps’ return to Old Trafford as they remained perfect in the Champions League.
Wolfsburg haven’t quite matched United’s perfect European record, but with just one loss this season they could still be dark horses in the competition.
The She-Wolves lost to Lyon last week and will be hoping to get back on track at home against United on Tuesday.
