Arsenal superstar Katie McCabe is preparing to make her 100th international appearance for Ireland this week in a crucial Nations League playoff against Belgium.
The Girls in Green have a two goal advantage heading into the second leg but the team is aware the job is far from finished.
Who is Katie McCabe?
Katie McCabe is one of Arsenal and Ireland’s most reliable defenders.
The full-back is set to make her 100th international appearance on Tuesday night and there is no doubt that she will go down as one of the most iconic players to ever represent her nation.
McCabe first made her debut for the Republic of Ireland in 2014 where she quickly became one of the first names on the teamsheet.
With McCabe as captain, Ireland qualified for the 2023 World Cup – their first appearance at a major tournament in history. The 29-year-old became her country’s first-ever goalscorer in the tournament before they were knocked out in the group stage

Things have started to look up for Ireland since Carla Ward took over as manager at the start of this year.
Ireland have enjoyed a successful Nations League campaign and they are now competing in a playoff to qualify for League A.
McCabe proved to be as reliable as ever on her 99th international appearance and she was only denied a hat-trick against Belgium after her goal was judged to go down as an own goal.

What next for Katie McCabe?
Ireland play Belgium for McCabe’s 100th appearance, with her 50th cap also coming against the Red Devils.
A win for Ireland would send them into League A of the Nations League. Through League A Ireland can automatically qualify for the World Cup without having to play qualifiers.
Once the international break is over, McCabe will return to Arsenal for domestic duties.
Arsenal have endured mixed fortunes to start their campaign and they are five points behind Chelsea in the WSL already.
The Gunners have won one out of two so far in their Champions League defence and they face Bayern in their next European clash.
