Chelsea captain Millie Bright says she is “always available” for England selection – but she is currently focused on club duties.
The centre half withdrew from international consideration ahead of the summer’s Euros in Switzerland, saying she was unable to give her maximum either mentally or physically.
England went on to defend the European crown they won in 2022.
Sarina Wiegman will shortly be announcing her squad for friendlies against Brazil and Australia later this month.
But although Bright said she would “have to see what comes” regarding international competition, she reiterated that she is concentrating on the start of Chelsea’s UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign, which begins against FC Twente on Wednesday.
“It’s exciting,” Bright told a press conference. “It’s the competition every player wants to play in, you dream of it as a little kid, going from watching it on the TV and having that excitement, to then being able to play in it – it’s a privilege, and it’s a competition that is never taken lightly.
“I think we’ve seen how hard the women’s game is now to compete and to win, it’s getting harder and harder each season, which is fantastic, shows that we’re doing all the right things, and we’re keeping moving the women’s game forward, but it’s an honour to play in, and our ambitions are the same every single season.
“The journey always looks very different from season to season, but our ambitions are very clear and as players we know what’s expected of us, and I think the most important thing is that we’re all on the same page and we’re all going in the same direction.”
Millie Bright: Chelsea are working hard to be better
Chelsea are unbeaten so far in the Women’s Super League this season, winning four of their five matches, and drawing the other, making Bright a happy captain.
“The only thing we’ve been critical of ourselves is some of the performances, but it’s early on in the season. Hitting peak performance comes a little bit later on in the season. Obviously we strive every single game to be at our best, but the most important thing is points on the board, and I think collectively we’re in a really good place and we’re on the same page, we’re working hard every single day to be better, but most importantly it’s about [Wednesday] night’s game and our heads are on that.”
