Caitlin Foord recently reached her 100th appearance in the WSL but the Arsenal star remains ever humble, treating each game as important as the last.
Foord made her move to North London in 2020 and has been a regular fixture in the Arsenal lineup ever since.
The Australian scored on her 100th appearance in the WSL against West Ham last month but she admitted that she treats every game the same despite reaching the impressive milestone.

“I don’t take any appearance lightly,” Foord said. “I feel like every time you step foot on the pitch for this club, it’s a privilege. And to do it over 100 times now, yeah, it’s incredible, and I just want more and more and keep building on success with the club.”
During her five years with the Gunners Foord has never won the WSL. Despite no glory in England, the forward was a key part of Arsenal’s Champions League winning side last season.
“It just feels nice to be able to say I’ve played that many times for the club.” She continued, “I think to show the commitment to the club as well, to obviously play that many games takes a few years, so it’s nice to give that commitment. And I guess it’s being rewarded as well, being able to step on the pitch so many times.”
Since she joined Arsenal, Foord has only missed 12 games for the cub proving her reliability under various different managers.
Her latest manager, Renee Slegers, was full of praise for the ‘hard working’ Foord after making her 100th appearance.

Foord cherishes memories at the Emirates
When asked about what her highlights of playing for Arsenal have been so far, Foord didn’t discuss the Champions League but rather being able to play home games at the Emirates Stadium.
“I feel like almost every game [at the] Emirates Stadium,” she said. “It’s still kind of fresh for the league games to be there. So I think that that feeling of walking out onto the pitch with our supporters there, the bigger the occasion seems to be, the bigger the crowd as well.
“So I think the games against Chelsea, City. I mean, we haven’t got results sometimes that we want, but I think one of the WSL games that stands out is when we played Chelsea at home. We dominated really well and we ended up winning the game. I think we want more games like that. I mean, the goal is for us to win the league and you have to win these games.”
Arsenal continue their quest to end Chelsea’s dynasty in the WSL this year but the season hasn’t got off to a perfect start.
The Gunners have dropped points two games in a row after against Manchester United and Aston Villa. Next up for Arsenal is another tricky clash against Manchester City, who are also proving they have the qualities to challenge Chelsea this year.
