AI predicts the Knockout Phase of the Women’s Champions League
Arsenal defeat AS Roma 4-1 on aggregate to reach the quarter-finals, but Manchester United crash out on penalties to PSG.
Frauen-Bundesliga sides Bayern Munich and VfL Wolfsburg also reach the quarter-finals after wins over Atletico Madrid and Juventus, respectively.
In the quarter-finals, Arsenal face a rematch of last season’s last-eight match against Real Madrid. The Gunners, who won 3-2 on aggregate last season, win by the same scoreline this campaign to reach the semi-finals.
Chelsea also reach the last four with a hard-fought 3-2 aggregate victory over PSG. Elsewhere, Lyon defeat VfL Wolfsburg 4-2, while Barcelona crush Bayern Munich 5-1.
The semi-finals bring an all-WSL clash between Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as Barcelona vs. Lyon.
Although AI predicted Arsenal to win the WSL title, this time it predicts Chelsea to reach the Champions League final, beating the Gunners on penalties.
They face Barcelona in the final, who see off Lyon 4-2, and are hoping to make amends for their defeat in the final last season.

AI predicts Barcelona to win the Women’s Champions League
In ChatGPT’s simulation of the Women’s Champions League, Barcelona defeat Chelsea in the final to win back Europe’s most prestigious prize.
In their recap of the match, Salma Paralluelo gives Barcelona the lead after 12 minutes, before Lauren James smashes home an equaliser on the 38th-minute mark.
Aitana Bonmatí, after her recent Ballon d’Or triumph, puts Barcelona back ahead on 59 minutes, before Sam Kerr draws Chelsea level with an 88th-minute equaliser.
However, Chelsea’s wait for a first Women’s Champions League triumph goes on, as Caroline Graham Hansen scores the winner just before half-time in extra time.
Should Barcelona lift the trophy, it would be their fourth Women’s Champions League triumph, tying with Eintracht Frankfurt and trailing only Lyon’s eight.
Barcelona’s triumph would also come despite a difficult summer where players, including Fridolina Rolfo and Ingrid Engen left the club.
Financial issues at the club left the Spanish giants with just 17 registered players before the start of their domestic league season. However, the quality still in their squad immediately makes them one of the favourites to lift the trophy next May.

When does the League Phase start?
The new League Phase format of the Women’s Champions League gets underway on Tuesday, October 7th, with Arsenal’s clash with Lyon among the opening day games.
Disney+ will broadcast all 75 matches from this season’s tournament, with Alex Scott and Fara Williams among the broadcasting team.
