Brighton vs West Ham preview
The Seagulls and Hammers will be seeking their first wins of the Women’s Super League season when they meet on Sunday afternoon.
The Seagulls have had a tricky start to the season in terms of opponents. A goalless draw with Aston Villa was followed by a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City, in which Andree Jeglertz’s side had to come from behind to take the three points.
West Ham lost to an 86th-minute penalty by Beth England in a 1-0 loss to Tottenham.
Despite taking the lead against Arsenal, they ultimately fell to a 5-1 defeat to the European champions.
So both sides will be determined to find their first win of the season, though it will be the Seagulls who enter the clash as favourites.
Brighton finished fifth in the Women’s Super League last campaign, while West Ham finished ninth.
Rehane Skinner, in her press conference, said she was keen for West Ham to get points on the board, adding that there are some positives to take despite the opening two defeats.
Team news
Brighton have not yet reported any injuries and could name an unchanged side to the one that narrowly lost out to Manchester City last week.
Michelle Agyemang is still looking for her first goal since returning to the club on loan, while Chiamaka Nnadozie in goal looks to be one of the signings of the season from her opening two games.
Riko Ueka recently signed a new deal with West Ham and will likely lead the line again for the Hammers.
Predicted lineups
Brighton: Nnadozie; McLauchlan, Rule, Minami, Olislagers; Symonds, Cankovic; Rayner, Kirby, Haley; Agyemang
West Ham: Walsh; Nystrom, Tysiak, Zadorsky; Denton, Siren, Gorry, Hanshaw; Martinez, Ueki, Asseyi

Sunday’s game could be a scrappy one given that both sides are searching for their first victory.
Brighton’s side though have more WSL experience and with the likes of Michelle Agyemang and Fran Kirby, we predict the Seagulls to pick up the three points.
