Emily Fox of Arsenal is one of the contenders for CONCACAF’s Women’s Player of the Year award.

She is one of six players nominated for the award, which is based on performance statistics during the 2024/25 season as well as the input of football experts. Eligible nominees must have played for a CONCACAF Member Association’s senior women’s national team or played for a club in the relevant season in a top division women’s professional league in the CONCACAF region.

Fox – who joined Arsenal in 2024 – played all six games for the USA en route to Olympic gold last summer, and helped Arsenal to lift the UEFA Women’s Champions League. The 27-year-old has also been nominated for this year’s Ballon d’Or, and was included in the PFA team of the year for the Women’s Super League.

The other nominees for CONCACAF Women’s Player of the Year

The other England-based player who is in contention is Jamaica and Manchester City’s Bunny Shaw, who won multiple player of the year awards in 2024, and picked up the WSL Golden Boot.

The pair are joined on the shortlist by Jacqueline Ovalle, who during her time at Tigres in Mexico helped her side to a runner-up finish in the CONCACAF Women’s Champions Cup as well as scoring 28 goals in the league. The 25-year-old recently joined Orlando Pride of the NWSL, recording her first assist in her first start for the club against Bay FC at the weekend.

The other nominees are Charlyn Corral of Mexico, Haiti’s Melchie Dumornay, and Lindsey Heaps of the USA.

How the voting works for CONCACAF Women’s Player of the Year

Voting for the CONCACAF Women’s Player of the Year award will consist of 100 votes total from a mix of players, coaches, media and fans:

41 votes: one vote for each CONCACAF Member Association’s women’s national team head coach.
41 votes: one vote for each CONCACAF Member Association’s women’s captain.
9 votes: one vote each for nine representative members of the media from the CONCACAF region.
9 votes: fan voting through the association’s website. The player with the most fan votes will receive four votes in the overall voting process, second place will receive three votes, and third place will receive two votes (regardless of the number of votes cast online).

The player with the most votes out of the 100 available will be named 2024/25 CONCACAF Women’s Player of the Year. Fan voting will conclude on Sept. 30, 2025.
