Tottenham Women’s new head coach Martin Ho has revealed how he is taking inspiration from the manager of the men’s team, Thomas Frank.
Both Ho and Frank have arrived at Tottenham this summer, after the men’s and women’s sides both suffered poor domestic seasons in 2024-25.
Tottenham Women finished 11th in the Women’s Super League, while the men also finished one place outside the relegation zone in 17th.
However, the men still qualified for the Champions League after beating Manchester United to win the Europa League.
Ho has revealed that Frank, who arrived at Tottenham from Brentford, is someone he looks up to.
The 35-year-old replaced Robert Vilahamn as Tottenham Women’s head coach after managing Norwegian side SK Brann.
Martin Ho taking inspiration from Thomas Frank
Martin Ho highlighted Thomas Frank as someone he looks up to, as the Tottenham Women’s boss prepares for the 2025-26 Women’s Super League season.
Ho said: “Thomas Frank was a big inspiration in terms of clarity – he’s very clear on what he wants, he’s very specific on what he wants and he gets the best out of players with that.
“I’ve now met Thomas quite a few times. He’s a really good guy, humble and someone I’ve looked up to as a role model. When I first met him I was a bit frozen if I’m honest because I’ve looked at the way he does things and how he develops teams and individuals and that’s a big thing in my own methodology.
“I’ve come to Spurs because it’s authentic and I like that it’s a club that’s been on the rise and and we want to get it back on that track because we know we’ve maybe fallen off that track.”
Ho added that he feels that Daniel Levy has shown commitment to the women’s team, and that the Tottenham chairman has got “very big plans” for the club moving forward.
When does the 2025-26 Women’s Super League season start for Tottenham?
The Women’s Super League season kicks off in just under two weeks.
Tottenham will start their season against London rivals West Ham on Sunday, September 7th.
Martin Ho will hope to have a similar start to life as Tottenham manager as Thomas Frank has made with the men’s team who are second with two wins out of two.
Tottenham midfielder Eveliina Summanen said she expects Tottenham to make improvements under Ho this season.
She said: “There’s not been that much time yet with him but he’s given us a lot of good energy and that’s sometimes the most important thing.
“Without going into too much detail, he’s just tweaking small things. It’s still quite hard to judge, but the first impression has been really good and really positive and I feel like there is a route for us to go down.
“There is so much more potential than what we showed last season and I think he can bring that potential out of us.”
