Summer transfer window signings
Arsenal have made some impressive signings this summer after winning the Champions League last season.
Renee Slegers’ side made a big statement by making Olivia Smith the first £1 million player in women’s football.
Smith joined from Liverpool, while Taylor Hinds also made the same move but as a free agent after letting her contract at the Merseyside club expire.
Arsenal were delighted to bring Chloe Kelly back on a permanent deal after an impressive loan spell, and an even more impressive Euro 2025 with England.
The Gunners have also strengthened with German goalkeeper Anneke Borbe.
West Ham have also been busy, with their latest coming in the addition of talented Swiss international Leila Wandeler from Lyon.
The Hammers have also signed England U23 international Sarah Brasero, Ffion Morgan from Bristol City and Japanese international Yu Endo from Urawa Red Diamonds.
Arsenal vs West Ham team news
Arsenal face their second pre-season friendly of the summer when they take on West Ham on Wednesday night.
The Gunners suffered a 4-3 defeat to Tottenham at the weekend, and will be hoping to put on a better performance, with less than two weeks to go before the start of the Women’s Super League season.
Leah Williamson has undergone a minor surgery that will keep her out for the start of the WSL season.
Lea Walti is also unavailable after undergoing a second abscess surgery following a health scare last season.
Olivia Smith and Taylor Hinds will be pushing for a start after coming off the bench against Tottenham.
There are no fresh injury concerns for West Ham who could play a similar XI to the one that played against Liverpool.
Predicted lineups
Arsenal Predicted XI: Borbe; Fox, Wubben-Moy, Catley, Hinds; Cooney-Cross, Caldentey; Mead, Pelova, Kelly; Russo
West Ham predicted XI: Szemik; Endo, Nystrom, Zadorsky, Hanshaw; Piubel, Gorry; Pavi, Ueki, Morgan; Martinez
Arsenal vs West Ham prediction
Arsenal showed a bit of rust in their 4-3 defeat to Tottenham in their first pre-season friendly.
However, the Gunners should be more than prepared for their pre-season outing against West Ham.
The Hammers have kept two clean sheets so far during pre-season and though they might make life difficult for Arsenal, the Gunners should have enough firepower to put their opponents away in the second-half.
The friendly is set to be streamed online, so fans will be able to tune in and watch the match.
Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 West Ham
