How Norway and Italy reached the quarter-final
Norway finished top of Group A after victories over Iceland, Finland, and hosts Switzerland.
However, they made tough work of a group that they were comfortably expected to win. Norway had to come from behind to beat Switzerland, scored an 84th-minute winner against Finland, and conceded three goals in a seven-goal thriller against Iceland.
Italy had it tougher as they finished second behind tournament favourites Spain in a group that also included Belgium and Portugal.
Andrea Sochin’s side took a narrow 1-0 victory over Belgium, but conceded a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Portugal.
Despite losing to Spain 3-1, they managed to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Norway vs Italy prediction
Norway and Italy played out two draws during qualifying for the Women’s Euros last year.
Here at SheKicks, we expect a similarly close clash to be played out between the two nations.
There will likely be a lot of nerves on show as if they qualify for the semi-finals, they will be just one step away from the Euro 2025 final.
With that said, our prediction is for the game to be 1-1 at 90 minutes and go to extra time.
From there, we predict the tie will be decided on penalties with Norway advancing to the semi-finals.
According to the UK’s best betting sites, a 1-1 scoreline after 90 minutes is available at odds of 5/1. Seperately, for Norway to beat Italy on penalties is at odds of 17/2.
Prediction: Norway 1-1 Italy (Norway advance on penalties) – 17/2 odds for Norway to advance on penalties
Norway vs Italy betting tips
- Norway vs Italy betting tip 1: Both teams to score, each team 2+corners in each half and each team 2+ cards -40/1
Norway and Italy have scored in each of their three games at Euro 2025, with Gemma Grainger’s side also conceding in each of their three victories.
There is not much between these two sides as shown by their meetings in the qualifiers for Euro 2025.
So we predict to see both sides get 2+ corners in each half, and also 2+ cards each, with the action likely to get frantic towards the end of the game if the two sides are heading towards extra-time and penalties.
- Norway vs Italy betting tip 2: Ada Hegerberg to score anytime – 7/4
Ada Hegerberg scored in Norway’s opening victory over Switzerland and should be fresh against Italy after being rested against Iceland.
She has always been a player for the big occasion for both club and country, so it would be no surprise to see her find the back of the net against Italy.
