Norway and Iceland team news

There is a very good chance that Norway could make significant changes to their lineup for Thursday’s game with qualification already confirmed, and key players like Caroline Graham Hansen and Ada Hegerberg could be rested ahead of the knockouts.

Should Hegerberg be rested, Elisabeth Terland could be in line to make her first start of the tournament, while Signa Gaupset, Lisa Naalsund and Celine Bizet are all also pushing for a start.

Iceland’s tournament is already over and they have nothing to gain from the final game except pride, so the team will probably field a strong team as they look to get at least one point on the board at Euro 2025.

After picking up a red card in their first group stage game, Hildur Antonsdottir could return to the starting XI.

Norway Predicted Lineup: Fiskerstrand; Bjelde, Harviken, Mjelde, Lund; Gaupset, Naalsund, Engen; Bizet, Reiten, Terland

Iceland Predicted Lineup: Runarsdottir, Heidarsdottir, Viggosdottir, Sigurdardottir, Arnardottir; Johannsdottir, Vilhjalmsdottir, Antonsdottir; Eirksdottir, Jonsdottir, Jessen

Norway vs Iceland prediction

If this had been the first match of the group stage we might side with Norway in the head to head, however with the game meaning nothing to either team it becomes much tougher to predict.

The result on Thursday could really depend on how Norway decide to lineup against Iceland but with qualification already secured it is unlikely that they will risk some of their more important players in a dead rubber game.

Norway still need a point against Iceland to guarantee top spot in Group A which comes with a more favourable draw in the quarter finals.

The Iceland team will still be giving their all against Norway, with the hopes that they can leave Euro 2025 with at least a point to show for their efforts.

Here at SheKicks, we think that even with a weaker starting lineup on Thursday, Norway can still get a result against Iceland who will be determined to take something away from the tournament.

While they should still qualify top of Group A, Norway may only be able to get a draw out of Iceland this week.

Norway vs Iceland prediction: Norway 1-1 Iceland – 11/2

Norway vs Iceland Betting tips

  • Norway vs Iceland betting tip 1: Both teams to score @ 8/11

We are backing both teams to score in Norway vs Iceland, as the final Group A game could be an open one with nothing to play for between the teams.

These nations came up against each other during the Nations League earlier this year, with one game ending goalless and the other finishing 1-1.

Both teams have scored in both of Norway’s group games so far at Euro 2025.

While Iceland are yet to score at the competition, with nothing on the line for Norway in their final game of the tournament they could be an easier defence to break down with players rested.

  • Norway vs Iceland betting tip 2: Elisabeth Terland to score anytime @ 7/4

With Ada Hegerberg expected to be rested for Norway’s final group game, the clash against Iceland represents a great opportunity for Elisabeth Terland to get her first goal of the tournament.

The Manchester United star is likely to deputise for Hegerberg and having only played 15 minutes at the Euros so far, the Manchester United forward will be desperate to make a good impression.

Terland played 20 matches for Manchester United in the WSL last season and she averaged a goal every other game with 10 by the end of the year – just two behind Alessia Russo who won the golden boot.

In 29 games for Norway, Terland has seven goals, but she is mainly used off the bench (10 starts in 29 caps) with former Ballon d’Or winner Hegerberg captaining the team.

Norway & Iceland Euro 2025 odds

With qualification for the quarter finals already confirmed, Norway’s odds have taken a positive turn before their final group game with the nation now 25/1 to win it all according to the best UK football betting sites.

Iceland are officially out of contention at Euro 2025, so they no longer have any outright odds available at the tournament.
