Five go top of Regional League tables for Christmas

Lichfield City, Lye Town, Sheffield FC, Wellingborough Town and Wythenshawe all went top of their Regional League tables for Christmas.

EASTERN – Dussindale draw despite dismissal

Premier – Enfield Town went down 5-1 at home to leaders Royston Town, Haringey Borough beat fourth-placed Bowers & Pitsea 8-0, Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers drew 2-2 at Wroxham despite the dismissal of Alisha Juby following her second yellow card.

1 North – Harpenden Town moved ten points clear at the top by beating Biggleswade United 3-0, while Histon were held 0-0 at Mulbarton Wanderers. Newmarket Town’s 5 – 1 result against Thetford Town lifted them into third spot on goal-diference.

1 South – Stanway Pegasus shared eight goals with Hutton to become only the second side to take points off them this term.

League Cup 3rd Round – Real Bedford Res are into the quarter-finals after eliminating Needham Market 3-1.

League Plate 2nd Round – AFC Dunstable beat Cambridge City 2-1, Frontiers went through 5-2 at Hertford Town, Colney Heath had a walkover against Southend United.

EAST MIDLANDS – Wellingborough win top of the table clash

Premier – Sheffield FC are back on top after seeing off Nottingham Trent University 5-2, Mansfield Town up to second with the only goal at Stamford, while Basford United were blown away 9-0 at home by Rotherham United for whom Alesha Gale and Lexie Butterworth notched hat-tricks.

1 Central – Leaders Loughborough Foxes Vixens netted nine past West Bridgford, Beaumont Park drew 3-3 at home to Sleaford Town.

1 North – Dronfield Town defeated Buxton 5-0, Grimsby Town overcame Notts County Devs 5-1, Chesterfield FC substitute Tia McDonagh got the sole goal of the game with Sherwood.

1 South – Wellingborough Town took top spot on goal-difference from New Bradwell St Peter when beating them 5-1. Abbie Brewin scoring times as the visitors had Lizzie Downhill dismissed in the first half. Newport Pagnell Town beat Bugbrooke St.Michael 3-0 aided by a Becky Shephard brace, Keira Doig gave Northampton Town Devs the lead but Thrapston Town’s Amelia Boddington equalised for a 1-1 draw.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Ebbsfleet hold leaders, Dorking first to defeat Saltdean

Premier – Ebbsfleet United held leaders Dartford 1-1, Dorking Wanderers became the first side to defeat Saltdean United with a 2-0 success, Fulham were 2-1 winners at Barking with a quickfire brace by Stella Gandee Morgan and Megalie Mendes. Millwall Lionesses won 3-0 at Sport London E Benfica, while it finished one apiece between Ashford United and Newhaven.

1 North – Bromley beat Hackney 4-0 to hold the leadership from Brentford, who made it ten straight wins with a 7-1 sinking of Actonians Res with Ashley Cheatley contributing a treble. Charlotte Close got all four goals for Richmond & Kew but they still drew at home to Leatherhead, Ashmount Leigh took the points 3-2 at Richmond Park.

1 South – Third-placed Welling United had to settle for a 3-3 home draw with Bexhill United, Herne Bay and Aylesford drew a blank, Soccer Elite Football Academy’s Storm Arnold struck a nine-minute brace in their 3-1 win at Montpelier Villa.

NORTH EAST – Watkinson is Handsworth’s four-goal hero

Premier – Ponteland United and Alnwick Town drew 0-0 in the meeting of second and third respectively, Spennymoor Town jumped four places to fifth with a 4-0 win at York Railway Institute. Harrogate Town are off the bottom at the expense of Hull United, whom they beat 6-4 despite a hat-trick for the visitors’ Lois Damms.

1 North – i2i International Soccer Academy were 3-0 winners over Chester le Street Amazons, Chester le Street United’s Lily West was at the double for a 2-0 result at Consett. Washington leapfrogged Bishop Auckland after winning 2-1 away to them with goals by sub Kennedy Gehlen-Green and Jessica Cook with the decider, while Redcar Town beat Wallsend BC Res 4-0 to escape the relegation zone as their visitors dropped in.

1 South – Handsworth won 4-2 at Leeds Modernians with all their goals from Abby Watkinson, as they closed in on their second-placed hosts. Brunsmeer Athletic banged in eight against Kiveton Park, Altofts won at Lower Hopton with a Nicola Smith goal, Sheffield Wednesday overtook York City Devs when beating them 4-2 away aided by a Amy Broomhead brace.

NORTH WEST – Darwen put five past leaders as Wythenshawe regain leadership

Premier – Wythenshawe returned to the top by beating Salford City 6-3, as Darwen overcame morning leaders Curzon Ashton 5-0 helped by Maddison McKenna’s three goals. West Didsbury & Chorlton recovered a two-goal half-time deficit to draw with their visitors, Gracie Slater with a double for Fleetwood Town Wrens before Anna Bishton’s reply was added to in stoppage-time by Avilla Bergin. Bury won 4-1 at Crewe Alexandra, Mancunian Unity meted out an 8-1 drubbing to FC United of Manchester.

1 North – Bolton Wanderers moved five points clear of Penrith at the top after an 11th straight win was achieved 5-2 at a previous perfect Accrington Stanley. Workington Town’s Beatrix Barber bagged a brace in the 2-2 tie at home to Preston North End, Atherton Laburnum Rovers ran out 7-1 winners over Hindley, Haslingden beat Radcliffe 2-0.

1 South – FC St. Helens put six past Ellesmere Port Town to go second, Wirral Phoenix were 3-1 winners over Mossley Hill Athletic, Chester won with two goals in the first 22 minutes at Warrington Town, Wigan Athletic scored five times against Litherland REMYCA.

SOUTHERN – Portchester put seven past second-placed Oxford City

Premier – Ascot United’s 4-0 win at Selsey sent them three three points clear in pole position, with Oxford City sent to a 7-2 defeat at AFC Portchester. Wycombe Wanderers hit six at Reading to go third, Winchester City Flyers’ 4-2 win over Woodley United was aided by a Libby Wilkinson double, Sholing scored five past Badshot Lea.

1 North – There was a 2-0 win for leaders Ascot United Res over Penn & Tylers Green, Wycombe Wanderers U-23s slew Slough Town 11-1 with substitute Solange Brellier netting four and Shannon Reid three. Tilehurst Panthers picked up a 6-3 victory and Kidlington, Milton United defeating Caversham United 5-0.

1 South – Bottom side QK Southampton eventually succumbed to two second-half goals at Wimborne Town, AFC Varsity’s Kayleigh Rogers accounted for the one goal at Bournemouth Sports Res, Woking beat Bursledon 3-1 with Trudy Bryan-Kerr scoring twice.

League Cup 2nd Round – Havant & Waterlooville edged out AFC Stoneham to go through to the quarter-finals.

REGEN ARABLE SOUTH WEST – Sherborne send Torquay to first defeat

Premier – Forest Green Rovers could have gone top but missed out when held 1-1 at home by Ilminster Town, Sherborne Town had a fine 3-0 victory at previously unbeaten Torquay United whom they consequently took third place from. Frampton Rangers beat Bishops Lydeard with Shannon Francis scoring two of their three goals, Poole Town’s Emma King hit a hat-trick in the 6-1 defeat of AFC St Austell.

1 North – Gloucester City beat second-placed Bitton 6-0 for a tenth win in a row, which featured a 15-minute hat-trick before the half-hour mark from Sachiko Kaneko-Grun. Bath City closed in on third-placed Cirencester Town when beating them 2-1, Paulton Rovers’ Alisha Stuart got a couple in a 3-2 win at St Vallier, Stockwood Wanderers went above SGS Olveston United when defeating them 2-1.

1 South – Weston super Mare drew at second-placed Weymouth even though they were down to ten with a red card for Ruby Johnson. Yeovil Town are up to third after a 6-0 defeat of Honiton Town, Feniton’s first points came with a 6-2 beating of Bideford, while Sticker and Saltash United drew 1-1.

WEST MIDLANDS – Lichfield and Lye both edge into pole positions

Premier – Lye Town have replaced Shifnal Town as leaders on goal-difference after they beat Burton Albion 2-1, Shrewsbury Town posted a 2-0 win over Leek Town thanks to a Katie Doster double in the last 10 minutes. Coventry Sphinx’s 3-0 score against Solihull Sporting included a couple of goals for Kirsty Farnsworth but there was no goals between Alvechurch and Coundon Court.

1 North – Lichfield City went top on goal-difference, ousting Walsall Wood with a fifth win from five 5-0 against Newcastle Town, with Dolcie Sims finding the net three times. AFC Telford United’s Charlotte Budd scored five in their 8-1 win at Leek Town Res.

1 South – Worcester City Res are a point behind leaders Halesowen Town after sending Droitwich Spa to a 7-1 defeat, Crusaders a further point behind following a similar result against Hereford Pegasus in which Danielle Selmes scored four goals.
