The 2018 Professional Footballers’ Association Players’ Player and Young Player of the Year nominees were released today (during half time of the SSE Women’s FA Cup semi-final between Chelsea & Manchester City). The two six player shortlists were quite Chelsea heavy! Congratulations to all players nominated – being recognised by your peers in such a way is tremendous achievement in itself.
PFA Members from 10 WSL1 clubs have been voting and the shortlists for the women’s nominees are as follows.

The winner of each award will be announced at the 45th PFA Awards dinner next Sunday evening at the Grosvenor House in London. Unfortunately, the glitzy bash clashes with Chelsea’s UWCL semi-final First Leg tie with Wolfsburg, so if it’s a Blue who wins either (or both) award then they won’t be there to collect their sizeable trophy – we think a win in Europe will be worth it.
