Wrexham AFC Women, who are to apply for a FAW Tier 1 licence for next season, have confirmed the team will become semi-professional if promoted.

On the heels of Genero Adran North leaders Connah’s Quay Nomads, Wrexham believe turning semi-professional will help them achieve their objective of ‘becoming the best women’s team in Wales, in the shortest period practically possible.’

Gemma Owen has been appointed as full-time Head of Women’s Football Operations, reporting directly to CEO Fleur Robinson, who together with manager Steve Dale will lead discussions around the 2023/24 squad.
