Cardiff Met won the Orchard Welsh Premier League last season but have not had things all their own way in that start of the new campaign and dropped points in a 1-1 tie at Port Talbot Town, where each side had a player sent off.

The Archers led at the break at Port Talbot through Lucy Brown’s effort on 19 minutes but the hosts replied from a penalty in the last 10 minutes as Laura May Walkley was fouled and Jessica Curran converted.

A couple of minutes later and the home side had a player dismissed for a second caution and it was 10-aside for the last few moments after Met’s Lucy Finch also saw red.

Cardiff City FC lead the table on goal-difference after a 4-1 victory away to Llandudno, where all the goals came in the last half hour.

Catherine Walsh scored for the Bluebirds either side of an effort by Lisa Owen. The hosts got one back late on through Mari Gibbard but Alana Murphy rounded off the win in added time.

Abergavenny sit second having sent Briton Ferry Llansawel away beaten 3-0.

Sian Bull headed home the opener in the second period, Naomi Cook doubled the lead and Laura-Jane Davies made the point quiet safe.

Swansea City got off the mark with four unanswered goals at Caernarfon Town.

Two goals from Stacey John-Davies and one apiece from Sophie Hancock and Jodie Passmore secured the points for the Swans.
