Cardiff Met made it an Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League and Cup double with victory over Swansea City at Llanelli Town AFC on Friday night.

The Archers were ahead on 15 minutes after Madison Schupbach forced a mistake from Swans keeper Gemma Border to gift Olivia Thompson an open goal.

Met doubled their lead early in the second half as Madison Schupbach rifled an effort from the edge of the box into the far corner.

Border beat away a Robyn Pinder effort at the near post, before Lauren Smith had a chance to score for City from a Katy Horsford corner but could not direct her header on target.

With 5 minutes to go the result was put beyond doubt, as Alice Griffith’s effort found the back of the net via the underside of the crossbar.

Swansea did still manage a consolation goal though, Horsford’s long range effort spilled over the line by Estelle Randell.
