Women’s International Round-up: Venezuela pip Argentina on pens

Women’s International Friendlies included a penalties win for Venezuela over Argentina and Spain victory against Norway.

Venezuela won 7-6 on penalties against Argentina after being pegged back late on. Mariana Speckmaier’s first-half effort eventually brought a last-minute equaliser from Aldana Cometti.

Spain were 4-2 winners over Norway, as Jenni Hermoso and Salma Paralluelo both got quick braces. Ada Hegerberg levelled with the aid of Chelsea’s Guro Reiten, Cesilie Andreassen getting a late second for Norway.

Ewa Pajor got the decider for Poland against Costa Rica with four minutes left, after Natalia Padilla’s opener was cancelled out on 79 minutes by Raquel Rodríguez.

It was goalless between Switzerland and China, while Luxembourg’s Amy Thompson hit a hat-trick as they drew 5-5 with the Faroe Islands.

Czech Republic’s Tereza Szewieczkova scored both goals of the match with Morocco, Krystyna Freda netted four of Cyprus’s six in Armenia.

There were 1-0 wins for Kosovo over Latvia and Panama against Dominican Republic, while Bulgaria beat Lithuania 3-0.
