We are the younger age at U-16s and were aiming for just over half way up the table in our first year but we are doing very well in a strong league and it looks like we will finish around fourth out of eleven teams We are through to the quarter-finals of both cup competitions; the FA of Wales U-16 Girls Cup and South Wales FA Cup (formerly the Tesco Cup)

Who are the team’s favourite players and why? All of them are great, stand outs are the girls who play for the Wales Regional Squad and the Development Centre.

Why should readers check out news/results for your team? We are flying the flag for girls’ football in our area and are the only team in Torfaen.

Who are your local derby side? Cwmbran Celtic, We knocked them out of the SWFA Cup and beat them in the league too. Our older U-16s and our chairman had defected to them, so it was good to do the double over them this season!

Have you got a website?  Yes, it’s at www.clubwebsite.co.uk/llanyrafonladies
