Quarter-Final results on Sunday 27 September
Everton 2-1 Chelsea
Brighton & Hove Albion 2-2 Birmingham City (aet, 3-4 won on pens)
Leicester City 1-2 Manchester City
Everton fought back from an early deficit to defeat Chelsea 2-1 and reach the last four.
Erin Cuthbert gave the visitors the lead from Pernille Harder’s delivery just five minutes in, Lucy Graham levelling before the break with a diving header from Ingrid Moe Wold’s cross.
Toffees keeper Sandy MacIver kept out efforts from Fran Kirby and Harder early in the second half and her side went in front soon after the hour mark, Valerie Gauvin meeting Hayley Raso’s cross with a stooping header.
Leicester City bowed out with a very respectable 2-1 home loss to holders Manchester City.
Man City made the breakthrough eight minutes before half-time, Chloe Kelly netting from the spot following a foul on Georgia Stanway.
Five minutes later and it was 2-0, Ellen White’s header sending Stanway clear to lob the goalkeeper.
The Foxes set up a tense finish as Millie Farrow was fouled in the penalty box and Charlie Devlin converted.
But it was the Cityzens who set up a massive clash with Arsenal for Thursday evening.
Lovely goal. @StanwayGeorgia instinctive to the @ellsbells89 flick-on to lob over the ‘keeper with a sweet half volley!
