There was a massive crowd of 28,565 at St James’ Park for Newcastle United’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup 2nd Round tie with Barnsley.

Sharna Wilkinson hit the winner for Newcastle, in off the far post from long range after Georgia Gibson got the equaliser.

AFC Wimbledon beat higher-division Billericay Town, confirmed with Emily Donovan’s stoppage-time effort. Ashlee Hincks earlier scored from 25 yards and Dons’ Faye Baker saved a penalty.

Norwich City avoided an upset against Sutton Coldfield Town thanks to two late penalties converted by Megan Todd.

An agonising exit too for Worthing, as MK Dons scored in the 90th & 93rd minutes to overturn a deficit.

Middlesbrough also threatened a surprise at Fylde but bowed out 5-4 after extra-time and a red card each.

London Bees led 2-0 at Southampton Women’s when the game was abandoned following a lengthy delay for a head injury.
