U-20 Lionesses Win Nike Tournament

Mo Marley’s side ended the 2017 Nike Friendlies Tournament by hitting Finland for six and were later confirmed as finishing top of the table, after the USA lost to Brazil.

England netted three times in each half and were two goals to the good after only 18 minutes.

Niamh Charles fed Kess Elmore to finish from a tight angle for the opener on 7 minutes and then a Zoe Cross shot was deflected out of reach of the Finnish goalkeeper.

Rianna Dean scored either side of the interval with Charles the provider on both occasions, firstly with a pass and secondly with a cross which was headed home.

In the last dozen minutes. Cross was brought down in the box by Maaria Roth and Georgia Allen stepped up to convert the penalty.

In the dying minutes, substitute Ellie Brazil finished from close range to complete the scoring at 6-0.

In the final match, the USA needed to beat Brazil to take the title on goal-difference but instead slipped to a 2-0 defeat.

Kerolin won an 11th-minute penalty under a challenge from Zoe Morse and Victoria scored from the spot.

Just before the hour mark, the hosts were caught on the counter attack, as Kerolin chipped out-rushing goalkeeper Amanda McGlynn to double the lead.
