There were narrow wins in the Barclays Women’s Super League for Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United, plus late levellers by Spurs and West Ham.

Manchester City have four points after two games, beating Brighton but the only goal of the game. The deadlock was broken in the last minute of the first 45, Khadija Shaw getting on the end of Kerstin Casperij cross to flick it past Sophie Baggaley.
Manchester United have begun the campaign with back-to-back wins, the second coming from an early goal away to Everton. Grace Clinton took just four minutes to score what proved to be the decisive goal.
Arsenal took all three points at Leicester City, where they scored the sole goal. The Gunners got in front 10 minutes into the second half, when Alessia Russo set up Frida Maanum for a close-range finish.
West Ham levelled late on to earn a draw against Liverpool. Olivia Smith gave the Reds a seventh-minute lead assisted by Sophie Roman Haug and the advantage was held until the 85th minute, when Riko Ueki equalised.
Aston Villa overturned Tottenham’s lead, only to be pegged back in stoppage time by a Beth England equaliser. Spurs were awarded a penalty midway through the first half, when Drew Spence was fouled in the area by Paula Tomás and Eveliina Summanen stepped up to convert. Rachel Daly set up Adriana Leon to level for Villa before heading home a Lucy Parker cross. But on 96 minutes, England nodded home a delivery from Amanda Nilden.
