Reading played most of the second-half with ten players but held out for a 0-0 Barclays Women’s Championship draw against Charlton Athletic.

The Royals were down to ten players less than five minutes into the second half, as Sanna Troelsgaard was shown a straight red card for her foul on Keira Skeels.

The Addicks immediately began to dominate and Emily Orman saved an effort from Kayleigh Green, who also headed over when beating the keeper to a cross.

Kate Longhurst was also close to making the breakthrough, while Angela Addison and Melissa Johnson combined well but with the keeper out of her goal, Johnson missed the target.

Carla Humphrey hit the post for the visitors with time running out, then in added time the hosts nearly snatched all three points but Sian Rogers turned a shot round the post.

Both teams now have two points after their first couple of games of the new season.
