Caldicot double their tally

Caldicot Town claimed only their second ever WPWL victory with an impressive 6-2 result at mid-table Llandudno, whose captain Claire Colville sustained a nasty knee injury which held up the game for 45 minutes.

The hosts twice took the lead through Sofia Owen and Louisha Doran but a Becky Evans own-goal Ashleigh Harris effort brought Caldicot level.

Colville’s injury saw Caldicot reduced to ten players but they went on to score four times in the last 27 minutes.

Harris netting twice more for her hat-trick, while Carys Waters and Naomi Cook added one apiece.

Swans cut gap on Archers

Swansea City cut Cardiff Met’s lead at the top in half when winning 4-0 at Port Talbot Town, where all the goals came in the second half.

Katy Hosford broke the deadlock on 53 minutes and Emma Beynon doubled the lead with 13 minutes to go.

Jodie Passmore soon added the third and Hosford completed the scoring at the end.

Cyncoed close in on Bluebirds

Cyncoed are only a point behind Cardiff City FC with a game in hand, after edging their fourth-placed visitors 1-0.

Jess Williams got the only goal of the capital derby, direct from a free-kick after just 8 minutes.
