In an abbreviated Scottish Women’s League programme, Celtic Academy won to give themselves the chance to go second by also winning this midweek.

Celtic Academy are a point behind second-placed Hibs U-23s in SWFL 1 South with two games in hand after defeating Boroughmuir Thistle 4-1.

Celtic play again tonight (Weds 17 Sept), away to Hamilton Academical U-23s at Bent Football Pitches, 8.15 kick off.

Fifth-placed Inverness Caledonian Thistle ran out 8-2 winners at Raith Rovers, who remain nine points adrift at the bottom of the SWFL 1 North table. Natalie Bodiam and Mary MacLeod each hit a hat-trick for Caley Thistle

The only fixture in SWFL 2 saw Moray deny Dundee City victory for only the second time in 14 North/East Division outings, twice thwarted by the woodwork in the dying minutes. In the Highlands & Islands League, Inverness Caledonian Thistle Development netted ten at lowly Nairn, while Kirkwall City’s match with Buckie was postponed due to a ferry cancellation.
