Sussex retrieve three-goal deficit to draw with Navy

A Sara Tubby brace helped Sussex comeback to draw 3-3 with the Royal Navy in the Southern Counties Cup on Wednesday evening. 

Annie Timoney played in Ciara Boylan to give the visitors an early lead, which was doubled midway through the half as Anthea Kapein returned a poor clrearance from 25 yards.

A Nat Bavister corner saw Nadina Green tap in the third after only 30 minutes and there was no reply from the hosts until the final 15 minutes, although Ariana Fleischman’s effort was cleared off the line by Nat Brierley.

Nicole Webley’s pass set up Tubby’s first goal and 8 minutes from time she scored again when following up Fleischman’s blocked shot.

With 3 minutes remaining. the ball fell for Fleischman and she equalised with a looping effort over the goalkeeper.
