Remi Allen signs for Birmingham City

Midfielder Remi Allen has returned to Birmingham City Women from local rivals Aston Villa on a two-year deal.

Allen made 25 appearances across her two seasons with Villa but faced an extended spell on the sidelines after sustaining an ACL injury.

Speaking to BluesTV, Allen said: It’s been a long time since I was here, so it is nice to be back in the building. There is still a familiar feeling for me here, I’m loving it.

“I always had a feeling that one day I would come back. The club have been brilliant, and talking with Carts [Darren Carter] and what he sees for me, I think we are the perfect fit as a collective.”

The 32-year-old enjoyed originally joined the Blues in 2014, scoring in the UEFA Women’s Champions League and getting an England call-up.

She had a four-year spell with Reading and then helped Leicester City secure promotion to the WSL.
