Aston Villa Women have signed 25-year-old Portugal international forward Diana Silva from Sporting CP.
Silva, who has 58 senior caps for her country, scored 19 goals in 38 games for Sporting Lisbon last season.
Earlier in her career, she was even more prolific with 89 goals in 124 appearances for Atlético Ouriense and then 19-in 24 games for Clube de Albergaria.
Villa Head Coach told avfc.co.uk of her new signing: “We’re very excited about Diana. She’s a young, energetic forward who’s very technical and likes to drive at players 1v1.
“We’ve picked up a young talent who’s been doing very well with her national team and scoring goals.
“We’ve been monitoring her progress since before lockdown and we’re really excited that she’s finally an Aston Villa player.”
