Park’s SWPL: Title rivals both hit six

Rangers remain two points ahead of Glasgow City and with a game in hand in the Park’s Motor Group Scottish Women’s Premier League.

Glasgow City 6-0 Hamilton Academical
Aberdeen 1-1 Spartans
Motherwell 3-3 Partick Thistle
Rangers 6-0 Hearts

Title rivals Rangers and Glasgow City both hit six, Megan Bell with a brace for the Gers against Hearts, Mairead Fulton with two penalties for City in overcoming Hamilton.

Aberdeen and Spartans drew 1-1 in their mid-table meeting, Bayley Hutchison putting the Dons in front but Robyn McCafferty heading in the leveller.

Seventh-placed Motherwell stayed one point in front of Partick Thistle, coming from two down to lead 3-2 with the help of a Kaela McDonald-Nguah double, before Teigan McCann rescued a draw for the Jags.

Boroughmuir Thistle 5-1 Stirling University
St Johnstone 4-2 Queen’s Park

Glasgow Women now only lead Boroughmuir on goal-difference in the race for runners-up, after the former went down 3-0 to champions Dundee United as Robyn Smith and Rachel Todd struck, while Thistle beat Stirling University 5-1 with the first two goals by Beth MacLeod.

St Johnstone went fourth with a 4-2 result over basement side Queen’s Park, who came from two down to draw level, only for Alex Robson to immediately restore the lead from the spot and Alix Modie then seal the points.
