Park’s SWPL: Rangers FC Women retake top spot

Rangers won 2-0 against Aberdeen at Pittodrie to return to the top of the Park’s Motor Group Scottish Women’s Premier League.

SWPL 1

Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers (Att; 1,894)
Hibernian 1-0 Partick Thistle

SWPL 2

Boroughmuir Thistle 1-1 Kilmarnock (Att: 250)

Rangers lead Glasgow City by two points and with a game in hand after defeating Aberdeen with two second-half goals. Kirsty Howat turned a Jane Ross strike past Aaliyah-Jay Meach, Kayla McCoy getting the second on 75 minutes when sent through one-on-one with the keeper.

Hibernian edged Partick Thistle 1-0 at Easter Road, Amy Gallacher playing in Eilidh Adams for a 50th-minute breakthrough.

Third drew with fourth in SWPL 2, Boroughmuir Thistle held 1-1 by Kilmarnock as the former went within three points of second-placed Glasgow Women. Loan signing Georgie Rafferty put Killie aherad on half-time, Fiona Gibson equalised for Thistle 12 minutes from the end.
