Watford 0-2 Charlton Athletic
Elise Hughes got the only goal in first-half stoppage-time from an Annabel Blanchard cross, as Palace beat Birmingham City and took over at the top of the league from Sunderland.
The result finally ended Birmingham’s title hopes, as with just two rounds of games to go, the leaders are right out of their reach.
Charlton are three points off Palace after a 2-0 win at Vicarage Road, which saw Watford relegated to the FA Women’s National League.
Melissa Johnson closed down the keeper to give the Addicks the lead before the hour mark, then in added time set up Melissa Fillis to get the second goal.
Blackburn were held to a goalless draw by Reading, which lifted Rovers above Sheffield United into the top half of the table, while the Royals moved three points clear of Lewes in the battle to stay up.
