Wi Jong Sim levelled from a cross by Kim Phyong Hwa and the favour was returned after the break, as a set-piece was deflected into her path.
Jon So Yon then wrapped up the trophy with a late penalty.
Japan had earlier taken third place with a win over the USA. But they had to wait until the dying minutes for the game’s only goal, scored by Mami Ueno.
