Newcastle United have signed Jamaican international striker Shania Hayles from Bristol City for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old played 22 times for Birmingham City and 44 games while at Aston Villa, whom she helped secure promotion to the WSL.

She did likewise for Bristol City, for whom she appeared 37 times.

Hayles told newcastleunited.com: “I’m absolutely delighted to sign for this club. I’ve heard such great things and I can’t wait to get started.

“I know that the fanbase is brilliant and I can’t wait to be playing in front of them all in the black and white shirt.”

Manager Becky Langley said: “I am delighted to see Shania sign for Newcastle United Women. I have briefly worked with Shania previously. She is fast, a great finisher and an incredibly humble but motivated player.

“I am excited to see Shania sign for the club. I am sure with our support she will flourish.”
