Netherlands beat France 2-1 after extra-time to reach the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup quarter-finals in Colombia.

Juliette Mossard had given France a first-half lead but Jet van Beijeren equalised before the hour mark, with Fleur Stoit getting the winner in the 103rd minute to set up a clash with the tournament hosts.
Japan beat Nigeria by the same score but in normal time, Miyu Matsunaga and Maya Hijikata on target before a stoppage-time consolation for Olushola Shobowale.
Germany were four up in under 40 minutes against Argentina, Sophie Nachtigall’s brace helping toward a 5-1 result. Mathilde Janzen and Loreen Bender also scored before Delfina Lombardi replied close to the break, Cora Zicai getting Germany’s fifth in the second half.
There were five goals also for North Korea as Austria bowed out. Valentina Madi scored in-between two goals by Sin Hyang, Kim Kang-mi, Chae Un-yong and Pak Mi-ryong added one each after the restart, Han Hong-ryon conceding an own-goal.
Quarter-Final ties
Games in the last eight of the competition take place on Sunday evening and into the early hours of Monday (UK time), with all matches live on FIFA+.
