Manchester United have signed England U-23 international Maya Le Tissier from Brighton & Hove Albion on a three-year contract.
The defender spent four years with Brighton and is the WSL’s teenage appearance record holder, having played 53 matches.
She was named in the top 10 best young footballers in the world last year, at the prestigious Goal’s NXGN awards.
Le Tissier told manutd.com: “It’s very special for me to come to a club like Manchester United.
“The ambition and values of the club suit me as a person and it’s a very exciting project here that I want to be a part of.
“Today is a very proud moment for me and I can’t wait to pull on the famous red shirt.”
Manager Marc Skinner added: “The recruitment of Maya to Manchester United is a continued sign of this football club’s ambition.
“Maya is a player that we have been monitoring for a while, and as expected she is developing into one of the brightest young players in the country.
“We now look forward to starting pre-season and embedding Maya into our team.”
